Support Special Initiatives
Gail E. & Wesly E. Kopp Memorial Pollinator Garden
Celebrate the Heritage Day jigsaw art of longtime volunteers Gail and Wes Kopp while nourishing butterflies, hummingbirds and bumblebees. Extend the Main Street pollinator garden along Virgin Avenue and add interpretive signage about conserving these important species.
Virtual Reality Tour and Program Broadcasting
Expand the Museums’ digital presence and engage visitors from their homes by creating a 360-degree virtual-reality field trip and the tools to stream programs and education content to those who cannot visit the museum or the underground mine in person.
1860 Rock School Tuckpointing Project
Preserve the oldest existing public school in Platteville. The mortar in the Rock School foundation has weathered away and needs to be tuckpointed to protect the beautiful Glass Rock walls and to prevent water from entering the interior.
