Passport to Summer Fun

Summertime in Platteville, WI is a lot like summer in many Wisconsin communities. School-age children are enjoying the warm weather and a break from school, and parents are often left looking for ideas and activities to keep children engaged in learning through the summer months.  The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums, the Platteville Public Library and Family Connections of Southwest Wisconsin have been working together on a Passport to Summer Fun.

The Passport to Summer Fun program offers Platteville children and families a calendar of free and low-cost events to attend starting in June and continuing into the early fall months. Some of the activities are recurring or ongoing, such as the weekly Play N Learns, while others are a one-time event, like a Day on the Farm. The idea is that each child attending an event for the first time will receive a “passport” that is stamped with an “I Love Platteville” stamp for each event they attend in the Passport to Summer Fun program. Each completed passport will receive a free ice cream cone from the Dairy Queen in Platteville.

Pick up a passport at the Museums, the Platteville Public Library, Family Connections or at one of these events:
