Lyceum Lecture: Driftless Dendrochronology: Stories of the Region Told through the Rings of Trees

The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums are proud to announce the line-up for the 2018 Winter Lyceum Lecture Series. All of these lectures are free to the public and will take place at the Platteville Municipal Auditorium at 75 N. Bonson Street in Platteville

Dr. Evan Larson, Associate Professor of Geography and director of the Tree-Ring, Earth, and Environmental Sciences Laboratory (TREES Lab) at UW-Platteville, will share insights on the past climate, ecology, and human history of the Driftless Area gained through eight years of collaborative projects with his students and colleagues. Stories of fire, drought, and pioneers will be illustrated through photographs and data, with emerging lessons on how we might choose to live on this land into the future.
