Supporting the Museums

There are three ways that you can help support the mission of The Mining Museum and Rollo Jamison Museum.

  1. Donation of Artifacts
Most items that are added to the museum collections come to us by way of donation. A comprehensive collection policy is in place to help the staff decide if a particular item is something that the museum should have in the collection. If you have something that you think the museum might be interested in, please get in touch with either the director or the curator Monday through Friday from 9:00-5:00 at (608) 348-3301.

  2. Monetary Donations
Cash donations can be made to the museum at any time. Undesignated donations are used to fund artifact purchases, support special events, and pay for special programs, such as our winter speaker series. Donations can be made in person or through the mail. A receipt will be given on request. Donations can be arranged on Monday through Friday from 9:00-5:00. You can reach the museum at (608) 348-3301 or P.O. Box 780, 405 E. Main Street, Platteville, WI 53818-0780

  3. Join the Jamison Museum Association (JMA)
The JMA's purpose is to provide volunteer and monetary support for the Rollo Jamison Museum and The Mining Museum. Annual memberships are available in a variety of categories. Funds raised through annual membership dues are used to support the activities of the JMA, which include Heritage Day, the annual Christmas exhibit, and new exhibits in the Rollo Jamison Museum and Mining Museum. Life members make a long-term investment in the future of the JMA and the museums. Funds raised through life memberships are put in a trust and invested to provide interest income to support museum projects.
